Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr. Michael H. Mulvany
M2_Bio.JPGGrowing up, the Mulvany's lived all over the country with a variety of animals (chickens and cats, dogs and duck, rabbits, rodents and reptiles). By the 9th grade, Dr. Mulvany knew he wanted to be a veterinarian and began volunteering at a veterinary clinic in Point Loma. Playing baseball in high school and college gave him another career possibility.

Dr. Mulvany gave up a career in professional baseball when he transferred his junior year from The University of San Diego to the University of California at Davis where he received the following degrees: BS (Animal Science, 1976); MS (Systemic Physiology, 1977); and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (1983). After graduating from veterinary school, the Mulvany family moved to Santa Cruz for a one-year intensive medical and surgical internship at a 17-doctor hospital.

In June 1984, Dr. Mulvany was hired at All Creatures Hospital, Inc. as the hospital's Medical Director and Practice Manager. He has been the sole owner of the hospital since 1997.

Dr. Mulvany's most recent Continuing Education (CE) topics include: intermediate and advanced dental care, cardiac and abdominal ultrasound, radiology, anesthesia, and soft tissue surgery. He is also considered the hospital's "go-to doctor" for new puppy and kitten examinations.

The animals are in manageable numbers in the Mulvany household. There is Kirra, a yellow lab, who is five years old - but acts like she is two - and is always looking for a fun time. The family's two mixed-breed cats were found as kittens under unlikely circumstances. 14-year old Maggie was found on the Del Mar Heights Road median watching the cars go by.  Tiger, who is two years old, was found on a front door step in Rancho Santa Fe. Born in September 2008, Finn McCool is a yellow lab and the newest addition to the household. He is at that stage of life where he thinks his second name is "No! Don't do that!"

Hobbies: Surfing, fresh and saltwater fly fishing (catch and release only), and mountain biking.

Dr. Laura Greenlee
G12_Bio.jpgIn 2002, Dr. Greenlee graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine at St. Kitts in the Caribbean. Her senior year of veterinary school was spent at Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine where she received an excellent clinical education and an introduction to the climatic differences between Eastern Washington and the Caribbean. After graduation, she worked at a few small animal practices in southern California before joining our hospital.

Along with Internal Medicine, surgical and dental programs, Dr. Greenlee has studied Marine Mammal Medicine. She is certified in and excels greatly at Acupuncture as well as Holistic Medications.

The Greenlee household pets are always in a state of flux. Most notable in the current pack are: Kirin (German Shorthair Pointer), Bella (Bearded Collie), Sadie (Yellow Lab mix and Lymphoma survivor), Izzy (Domestic Short Hair Cat), Delilah (Tonkinese cat), and the list goes on.

Hobbies: Scuba diving, cooking/baking, oil painting, and drawing.

Dr. Sheila Beail
B8_Bio.jpgDr. Sheila Beail attended the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2002. After graduation, Dr. Beail moved to San Diego to begin her career in veterinary medicine. Soon after that she joined All Creatures Hospital Inc and has helped keep the hospital on the leading edge of veterinary medicine and surgery ever since.

In 2003, Dr. Beail completed a year-long intensive course of study through the International Acupuncture Society and broadened the services offered by the hospital with her special interests in Alternative Medicine. Alternative Medicine helps integrate eastern and western medical philosophies through acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Most recently, Dr. Beail has attended surgical and alternative medicine CE meetings in addition to topics in internal medicine, critical care, and dentistry. She has a great fondness for and knowledge about Golden Retrievers and Maine Coons.

After a long day’s work, her golden retriever, Emily, and three cats - Cody, Grace and Deluca - are always there to meet her as she walks through the door.

Hobbies: Yoga, playing golf and softball, and spending time at the beach (and occasionally surfing).

Dr. Vera Heidolph
H3_Bio.JPGDr. Heidolph earned a Masters degree in International Management at the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix, AZ in 1989 and worked in international finance for several years. Her dream of becoming a veterinarian was realized in 2003 when she graduated from Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario. After completing a one-year intensive small animal medical and surgical internship in New Jersey, she moved to San Diego and continued her veterinary career.

Recent CE programs have been directed at fine-tuning Dr. Heidolph's skills and learning new techniques in dentistry and surgery. She also has a special fondness specifically for any "rescue pet" - especially Boxers, Pit Bull Terriers, Pugs, Rottweilers, and Boston Terriers. She also takes great interest in the caring for geriatric pets and helping ensure happiness and comfort in their "golden years."

Dijon, a 12 year old Boxer, and Bosco, a three year old rescued Boston Terrier mix, enjoy the good life in the Heidolph household.

Hobbies and free time: Volunteering in San Diego and Mexico performing spays and neuters for animals in need, traveling, and enjoying outdoor sports like hiking, snow skiing, windsurfing, SCUBA diving and indoor yoga.

Dr. Dana Tashjian
T7_Bio.JPGDr. Dana Tashjian graduated in 2007 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine with a focus in exotic species. After graduation, she was accepted into one of the best medical/surgical internship programs at California Veterinary Specialist in North San Diego County.

During the intensive year-long internship with the large case load and working with specialists, Dr. Tashjian fine-tuned her veterinary skills. In the summer of 2008, she brought these excellent skills in medicine, surgery, and critical care to All Creatures Hospital, Inc.

Dr. Tashjian specializes in all areas pertaining to felines. She also has a special interest in pocket pets (rabbits and rodents) and endangered species conservation along with challenging internal medicine cases.

Dr. Tashjian's two cats - Orin and Summer - allow her to live with them and take care of them. That is good news because the cats are heads of the household!

Hobbies: Horse-back riding, bike riding, snowboarding, and spending time at the beach.

Dr. Lindsey Hackett
H6_Bio.JPGDr. Lindsey Hackett graduated from Colorado State University, one of the nation’s top veterinary schools. Following graduation in 2007, she moved from Colorado to San Diego to fulfill a one-year internship at VCA Emergency Animal Hospital and Referral Center.

Working diligently throughout her internship, she gained vital experience in emergency medicine and critical care, emergency and soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and exotic medicine. VCA liked her so much that they hired her to stay with their company after her internship.  In 2009, Dr. Hackett found All Creatures Hospital, Inc. and became the newest veterinarian on our team.

Dr. Hackett has special interests in internal medicine, emergency care, and soft tissue surgery.  She is an advocate of preventative medicine and a proponent of multi-modal pain management.  She also especially loves all kinds of cats and large breed dogs.

Dr. Hackett grew up in a house filled with dogs, cats, bunnies, turtles, hamsters, and various other small pets.  She instantly fell in love with her cat, Nelson, when she opened his cage at the shelter and he reached up and put both of his arms around her neck.

Hobbies: Being outdoors (hiking, skiing, swimming, or surfing), and volunteering for veterinary related and non-veterinary organizations.
